Last Tuesday, in between classes and work, I rushed through Emory’s own Farmer’s Market to get vendor info and photos for the Real Time Farm’s Website.

The market started in the summer of 2008 as an opportunity to teach the Emory Community about local food as well as provide it! Julie Shaffer became the market manager the following year and has really built a wonderful weekly community event on campus. The market received a grant from the GA Department of Agriculture to promote nontraditional crops from Georgia. In the recent years, most sales have doubled and many present claim (according to Shaffer) that it’s one of their favorite markets to participate in!
